Knowledge Resource Service occasionally arranges for trials to new resources, which allows us to evaluate a resource before making a decision about purchase. The services listed below are currently made available by the vendor/publisher for a limited trial period. Your feedback during these trials is very important and helps to helps to inform decisions about future subscriptions.

Acland’s Video Atlas of Human Anatomy

Provides an online platform for the delivery of more than 300 narrated videos of real cadaver specimens. You can navigate the videos by volume; each volume is further divided by region for ease of selection and reference. Volumes include: The Upper Extremity, the Lower Extremity, The Trunk, The Head and Neck, The Internal Organs.

Visible Body (via Ovid)

Provides access to two products: Anatomy & Physiology and the Human Anatomy Atlas

Anatomy & Physiology by Visible Body is an app that is visually engaging and interactive by offering animations that review physiology and anatomical function. 3D anatomical models can be rotated, zoomed, and dissected.

Human Anatomy Atlas is a 3D visualization and learning tool used to explore the systems of the human body. It contains more than 4,600 anatomical structures, including all major organs and systems of the male and female bodies.

  1. I am unable to access the interactive anatomy pages as my AHS computer software does not support it. Also I am unable to provide my feedback on each anatomy link as again, I have no access due to software. Regardless, this is a great idea and I personally would LOVE to use an interactive anatomy resource both for my own use as well as a resource for patient use. It would be very beneficial for AHS employees to have access to a good anatomy reference as it promotes scholarly practitioning and will improve the quality of patient centered care we are able to provide.
